Cruise - Day 1

We headed out for our cruise from Miami, FL with my sister Emily, & husband Eric, & Eric's brother Rik & wife Heidi. The four of them are seasoned cruisers & had been on this boat (Liberty of the Seas) before. After first hitting up the "Windjammer Cafe" aka the buffet, we spent the first day having them show us around the ship. We loved it. Here we are testing out the boxing ring in the gym. I'm proud to say I did actually use the gym, but I'm not sure it really counts if I only used it once & it was the first day.This is the huge theater where we saw all the shows.

Here's us jumping on our bed in our stateroom.Once we'd checked out our staterooms it was time for our Muster Drill or "Mustard Drill" as we called it. Eric & Heidi were excited and ready to go with their life jackets even though we didn't have to wear them. Then we headed up to the front of the ship to watch as we left Miami. Here we are as the ship pulled out.

It was super windy and Klint thoroughly enjoyed what we called "the vortex".

Soon he'd roped Eric into his little game. Here they are going against the wind.

Then it was off to dinner where we met our more than fabulous wait staff in the dining room (more on them later), the show, & bed so we were all very rested & ready for our first day at sea.
