Dennis the Menace

We have many names for our little Alex. Chunkers, Tank, Monkey, but lately the one he has earned is Dennis the Menace. Our schedule in the mornings was get up, eat breakfast, get the boys ready for the day & then I would turn on Sesame Street for the boys while I take a quick shower. Apparently Alex has suddenly realized that he has that 10 mins a day to wreak havoc with no one to stop him. In the last few days he has completely EATEN 2 brand new chap sticks and today while I was in the shower he threw all the dvds off the shelf and I found him stuck here not able to figure out how to get himself out.
Good thing he's such a darn cutie or he might end up in the poubelle. He's so peaceful when he's sleeping. Seeing him like this you can never imagine what mischief he's going to get into when he wakes up.

Goodbye Old Friend

This week we had to say a very hard goodbye to a good old friend, our dog Nick. He lived a good, happy life, but came to the point where he just didn't seem happy anymore & he even snipped at Jameson. After months of debate we decided we had to get rid of him for our sake and his. It was very hard and we all miss him a lot, but we know it was the right thing to do. He was such a good boy when we took him too. He didn't bark at the other dogs, he was so sweet and went right with the sweet girl we handed him over too, and he didn't seem sad at all. That helped a lot. We sure do/will miss him. He was a good old dog. Here are a few pics I took of Nick and Jameson together because Jameson wanted some pics of his own so he could remember him.

The boy's favorite things today - his dog and the leaf he found that's as big as his head.
A boy and his dog. There's no relationship like it. They really did love each other a ton.

Here's Nick in one of his favorite spots to lay and watch the world go by. The neighbors all talked about how they loved seeing his cute little face under the gate as they walked by.

Annual Alzheimer's Walk

My family did the annual Memory Walk for the Alzheimer's Association this weekend. We were quite a bit smaller in numbers than we have been some years, but it was still a good time. We missed those who weren't able to be with us this year. Our number of kids in strollers was the same and the number of people who walked this year. Here's this year's walkers. Some of the stroller bunch
Eva, Isaac, & Alex
Nicole was the oldest of the kids this year. Jameson loves Nicole and was so happy to walk with her. She was so cute with him.
She was even nice enough to give him a ride when he got tired.
Cute little Eva. She was totally content the whole time riding in the stroller. The moms & kids
The guys never can stay with us girls.
After we finished the walk we decided to go put a Thanksgiving arrangement at Grandma & Grandpa's grave. A trip to the cemetery is always interesting with all those little kids and this was no different. We spent most of the time trying to keep the kids from stealing flowers off other people's arrangements. Trevor even managed to get his foot/leg stuck in one of the holes for flowers. We did get a few sweet moments with the kids. Jameson has really found a love for singing Primary songs since the primary program. He especially loves the song "Families Can Be Together Forever" so he decided to sit down by G & G's gravestone and sing it while playing with the grass. It was so sweet. Just had to share it.

Date Night

It's 10:30 on a Friday night and Klint and I are on a date and trying DESPERATELY not to wake the kids up. Before you imagination runs away with you I'll tell you why. It's called The Proposal. If you haven't seen it you should go out and rent it right away. We were seriously laughing so hard that (1) we were trying not to wake up the kids and (2) we were so glad we did not see this movie in the theater because we would have seriously embarrassed ourselves with how out of control we were with laughter. We had to keep turning up the volume because we were laughing so hard we couldn't hear what was going on. Just thought I'd share. I you're up for a good laugh you REALLY NEED to rent it. Enjoy!

Halloween Festivities

I'm happy to say we finally got well enough just in time to participate in some fun Halloween festivities. Our little Jedi "Manikin Skywalker"Our Cute little pirate.
Alex and I were sick for our ward's trunk or treat, but Daddy took Jameson and they had so much fun. Jameson loved showing all of his Jedi costume and seeing all of his friends in their costumes.
Jameson loved using "the force" on everyone.
With fellow Jedi Tyler Fosburgh
With our friends & fellow Jedi (and his former nursery teachers) Scott & Suzanne O'dell & baby Tess (Yoda)
Protecting his & Alex's girlfriends Bailey & Olivia Webb
Fighting his favorite ninja in the ward Nathan Harris (I swear he is exactly what Jameson will be like when he's older)
On Friday they had a Halloween party at Jameson's preschool. The kids were so excited to show off their costumes. They were adorable.
Here's Jameson with his friend Rex & cousin Isaac.
The whole class about to enjoy some treats.
The whole class.
On Halloween we got the boys dressed up and went to a block party in Klint's brother Richard's neighborhood. Then we met up with my brother Scott & his fam at their tri-ward trunk or treat.
It was fun for the boys to play games and especially see their cousins. The many looks of our little pirate. In the end her refused to wear anything on his head.
Jameson loved his Jedi costume. It was so fun to see him really understand Halloween for the first time. It made it really fun for all of us.
Jameson loved fighting everyone and using the force on them. Here he is taking down Daddy.
I'm pretty sure he's thinking," Okay, enough pictures already."
Little cousin Eva was about the cutest little ball of pink fluff I've ever seen. The boys thought she was so funny.
As part of the trunk or treat some one had set up a projector and was showing a Halloween Charlie Brown movie. Jameson settled in with some popcorn some one else was giving out and we set for the night.

Dear Swin Flu

Dear Swine Flu,
Please leave my little family alone. I know you probably thought it would be lots of fun to come home from work with Daddy to meet the rest of the family, but none of us have enjoyed the acquaintance at all. It has lead me to have 3 consecutive, completely sleepless nights (one for me & one for each child) & there is a good chance there are more on the way as you have a serious grip on my poor little Jameson. We now know you're here, we have put up with you, but we are really quite ready for you to be gone. My heart just can't take the pathetic little coughs and fevered, lethargic little boys any longer. Thanks to our wonderful doctor we now have the drugs and will chase you away with all our might. So please just go without any more fight.
Thank you,
Nurse/Snuggler/Pill Pusher (thank you Grandpa Bird)/Rock-A-Bye Singer/Mama
