We have the greatest Primary Leaders in our ward. They set up the most amazing Primary activity for the kids in our ward today (even though it was the coldest morning yet). They got special permission from the school across the street from the new Gilbert Temple which opens in March to do an activity on their lawn. They set up a bunch of canopies (tents) facing the temple & had leaders and kids come dressed like they were living in the time of the Book of Mormon. Then they had all the kids sit in the tent's and listen to the Bishop who talked about when King Benjamin's people pitched their tents toward the temple to hear what the Lord wanted him to tell them & talked about how if we always keep our eyes on the temple we won't ever be led astray. It was such an awesome activity.
Even better, Later that same afternoon Klint & I were able to go inside the Gilbert Temple to help assemble the amazing chandeliers in some of the sealing rooms. It was a once in a lifetime experience. We are so grateful to they Malloy's in our ward (he's been the construction super for the exterior of the Gilbert temple) who invited us to be part of this special experiences. I can't wait for the temple to be open & to be able to take the boys through. I think it will really help them to keep their "tents toward the temple" as they remember how special it is to be inside the temple. I can't WAIT!
