What a day! - Afternoon

Because Klint had a "study day" on Thurs. we decided to take a "study break" to have a little family fun. We decided to take the boys for a ride on the new Light Rail system that was just put in. It ends about a mile from our house so we see it all the time, and every time we see it Jameson says, "Mama, I need to ride that train". I've kept telling him we would, and we decided we'd better go before it got too hot. We called my parents and invited them on our little adventure, and we were so happy to have them come along. We got on the "train" at the end of the line and rode it just a couple of miles down to where it stops on Mill Ave. As we sat there waiting for the train to leave, Jameson was quietly wedged between Klint and I biting his fingernails. When we asked him if he was excited he said yes, and when we asked him if he was scared he said no, but I think he was both a little excited, and a little scared not knowing exactly what was going to happen. Once the train started moving he loved it. He loved that it went "so fast." He eventually got comfortable enough to move across the train to sit by Grammy & Papa for some of the ride.
The boys riding the "train" with Grammy & Papa.I just had to put this one because it was so cute. This is Alex and his favorite person in the world, his Papa. I don't think I ever see either of them smile as big as when they are together. It's so cute. After we got off on Mill we decided to walk to Tempe Beach Park to see "the water & the fishies". After walking around there seeing water, and boats, but no "fishies", we decided to walk down Mill a little ways to see if there was a good place to grab a bite to eat. We found a Fatburger, (which I'd never been to before but LOVED,) where the adults enjoyed burgers, Alex enjoyed some french fries, and Jameson enjoyed a puddle of ketchup. It looked totally disgusting, but as evident from his face, he loved it. As we were winding down with our meal Jameson suddenly turned to us and said "I have a great idea!" We asked what it was, and he said, "lets go back on the train". So we agreed, and headed back to the train to go home. The train was quite a bit more crowded on the way back, but for being 5 o'clock in the evening we thought it was still pretty good. Two nice young men even gave up their seats so my mom and I could sit down. (I was shocked! Kudos to those guys. Their mom's should be proud.) Overall it was a great trip and we'd definitely recommend it. We were especially happy that we got to share it with Grammy & Papa. My kids may not remember, but they'll have lots of pictures so they know that Grammy & Papa helped them experience new things, even if it was just a 2 mile ride on the Light Rail. Thanks for the adventure Grammy & Papa!

Don't you just love cute kids?

We love Fatburger, but I think we are more Cheeburger, Cheeburger fans (Tempe Marketplace).
Fatburger has the best chocolate malts though, it's really a tossup.

Light rail adventures are so fun for biys! Stanton thinks the lightrail's name is Thomas. He loved it too. I hope they are always this easy to please!
