What a day! - Night

Thurs night we were at home swooning over Scott & Jenna's little baby Eva, and getting ready to color Jenna's hair when suddenly the power went out. I was immediately worried that the kids would be freaked out so I went and grabbed some flashlights/light sticks I had picked up for our 72 hour kit, and gave them to the boys. They thought those were the coolest things ever. They were great. The boys played "lightsabers" all night. We lit some candles and sat around chatting while we waited to see if the power would come back on. After about an hour we called SPR, only to find out it wouldn't be on until "approx. 9pm", and who knows how well you could trust that estimate, so Scott & Jenna went home. We walked them outside and played "lightsabers" out front for a while and then put the boys to bed, and Klint and I played checkers until just after 9 when the power came back on. Who knew you could have so much fun with stuff in your 72 hour kit. We've definitely already gotten our $1.50 out of them. Here are some pics of the boys playing "lightsabers".
