Fri. we went to the Mesa Natural History Museum. Klint and I had been there as kids, but it's been a hundred years, so we decided to take a couple of hours and take the boys, mostly to see the dinosaurs. It was a pretty fun trip. I'm not sure which of the boys enjoyed the dinosaurs more, Alex, Jameson, or Daddy. I think Jameson was a little freaked out at the enormity of them at first, so he just sat there staring up at them for a while. He eventually warmed up to them and loved the ones with big teeth. Alex used his one and only word, "whoooooaaaaw" every 5 seconds, which was pretty cute. Klint's childhood love of dinosaurs has never died down. It was a pretty cool exhibit, much better than I remember. Then we went to the AZ section where it talks about Native American life. That was more my scene (I love learning about cultures past and present. I wanted to be an archaeologist as a kid), but the boys weren't that interested so we ventured on to the Jail section, which was much more entertaining. Jameson was so brave he even agreed to be locked into jail with Daddy, and now tells everyone he saw the dinosaurs and he went to jail. Next we headed up to see the latest exhibit at the museum which is the "PSI Exhibit" which stands for "Poop Scene Investigation". It was a little over Jameson's head, but Klint LOVED it! The displays were hilarious, and we were able to get a few questions answered. After that we panned for gold. I'm not sure if Daddy or Jameson had more fun there. After showing Jameson how to do it Klint starting panning for himself and found lots of "gold". Jameson found a piece of gold too, but I think he was happier that we were letting him play in the water and get all wet. On the way home we stopped by DI to look for something where, as we always do, we found lots of little treasures. Daddy also found a 50 cent price sticker, so he decided to mark Alex down to 50 cents. Alex didn't seem all that happy about it, but he left it there until we got home. Overall it ended up being a fun little trip together. I love it when we get to spend a couple of hours doing something fun together. We don't get too many of those lately. Here are the pics.

That is one of our very favorite museums! We love it there and try and go often. We used to have a membership but let it lag when we moved cuz we weren't going as much when we lived in town. Glad you had fun. We should venture there together one of these days! My kids totally loved the PSI exhibit...shocker I know:)
Looks like you guys had fun. I'll have to take the girls there.
We've been member's of the Dino Museum since Otho was a little over a year old. We love it, albeit the novelty has worn off after 5 years. But, we still go once a month. They have a fun 2nd Friday's each month when the museum is open at night and is 1/2 price.
What a cute little trip! I will have to take Jon there - he would love it and we don't even have kids!!
What a great little story! I can't wait for the next "episode" to my online TV show!
Thanks for entertaining me at work!!
Pretty sure Brett would want to go just to see the poop exhibit. :)
