I started out the day trying to finish getting the clothes Alex has outgrown packed in the plastic tub to pass to cousin Trevor (my sister and I share baby clothes because we both have boys just close enough in age that it's perfect timing to pass to the next cousin when they outgrow them). I quickly went into Jameson's room to grab something, as Alex passed me crawling into his room. A minute later I heard a HUGE crash and scrape down the wall. Since that Tues. we had noticed the closet door in that room was broken I immediately knew Alex had gone right for it and it had fallen. I ran in, about having a heart attack and terrified to see what had happened, and found Alex crawling out from underneath the closet door that had fallen and only been stopped from landing on him by the plastic tub of clothes. Miraculously he was just scared and the door hadn't touched him at all. The door had fallen so hard it had ripped a shelf off the wall, and the door had hit the rocking chair so hard it put a hole right through it. I had to immediately say a quick prayer of thanks to my Heavenly Father for protecting my little boy. It was a testimony to me that the Lord has plans for him. Below is the pic of the aftermath.
This is what I saw when I came running back in, except Alex's little head was poking out from underneath the door, next to the tub of clothes. It doesn't look quite as scary without only the little top of his head poking out, but it was SCARY!

Oh how scary is that! What relief that he was un-hurt!
Yikes! I am so glad he is okay...those door are soo heavy!
Yikes! Little 1 year olds are full of TROUBLE!
This is a scary story. I had a similar thing happen to Andrew, he was climbing on the armoire in his bedroom and it fell down on top of him! I immediately recognized the blessing as you did, that his head was in the space between the shelves, keeping him from serious injury. I still occasionally get the sweats just thinking about it.
Sometimes when I pray every morning for the safety of my family
I feel like it's a little bit of "Vain repetition", but Alex's adventure with the door make me know I need to keep praying for the protection of those so deal to me. It might be repetitious, but it's certainly wasn't in vain.
Thanks for the fun outing too. You are awesome!
