Laundry Basket Fun

Why do kids love laundry baskets? They can make them into ships, race cars, turtle shells, and even beds. Alex has been obsessed with the laundry baskets this past week. Every day he would fill them with blankets, stuffed animals, and all kinds of other treasures. Then he would just want to sit in it while he watched tv or read or anything else we were doing. It was so silly. I thought it would last a day or so, but we've had at least a full week of laundry basket fun. Here he his watching a "kid show".

Then he started wanting to sleep in one. That's where we drew the line. (He's much too big to fit) After a little battle we finally got him into his bed. When I went to check on them later that night guess where I found him? Yup, Blankets, pillow pet & Alex were all packed into the laundry basket sound asleep.

He looked so uncomfortable, but I knew if we got him out he would have just gotten back in, so we let him sleep there. He was so happy he'd done it when he woke up in the morning. It was hilarious. Gotta pick your battles. Also, I seem to remember a picture of myself as a child sitting in a laundry basket "reading" a book upside down. I guess he is my child after all.
