The final thing we did on our California trip was take the boys to the beach for the first time. Alex had been asking to go to the beach for a long time, so I was pretty excited to see how they would like it. This beautiful beach, Crystal Cove, was just below the resort we stayed at so we saw it all the time.
It was a bit of a hike, but the boys did great, and it was a very pretty walk.

We had lots of fun chasing the waves and then running away from them.
I was surprised that despite the cold, the boys had so much fun and played in the water for so long. I just love to look at their happy faces while they play.
We also had lots of fun building sand castles. 
Alex especially loved that. Here he is showing me his sand castle.
At one point I looked on the ground & noticed these cute little footprints in the sand. These are some of my favorite pictures from the trip.
I just love these sweet little boys. They are so much fun. I love to see them so happy.
Thank you Grammy & Papa for this great trip. Sharing these firsts & making these memories with you made it even better.

how fun! there's nothing quite as exciting as going to the beach, especially with little kids. Looks like your boys loved it:)
