California Trip w/Grammy & Papa

We had wanted to do something special with Grammy & Papa to make some memories when they got home, but didn't think with their going back out on another mission so soon that we could make it happen. When we mentioned to them that we had wanted to go to an amusement park with them they told us they were already planning to spend a week in Newport Beach to use a time share week they had to use before they left on a mission again. It was perfect, so we made it happen. We went to church together on Mother's Day (in my bro Scott's ward cause he was speaking) then we headed out for California. It was much more painless traveling with the boys than I thought it would be. They did great & thanks to our DVD player were pretty entertained the whole time. Here's Alex watching a movie while we were driving. We got to the resort in the evening with just enough time to eat & then scout things out a little before we went to bed. The resort was absolutely heaven. We wished we could have stayed there forever. Here are a few pics.

As we were scouting around we found a bunch of brochures. Jameson immediately zoomed in on the one for Legoland so we gave one to each of the boys. They have a new Lego Star Wars exhibit there & that was really the purpose for our going. Jameson is so obsessed with Legos. He began asking if we could go. That was when we finally told them that we were going in the morning (the plan all along) and they were so excited. They opened up their brochures to the big map & began mapping out all the things they wanted to see. It was so cute. Here they are studying their maps.
