Riparian Preserve
The boys and I were invited to go with some girls from our ward to start out at some one's mom's house and then walk from there to the Riparian Preserve. It was a really fun walk and even more fun to go with the big group of wonderful ladies & their kiddos. I'm pretty sure the adults were outnumbered by the kids, but that seems to be the norm these days. The kids LOVED the walk from the house to the preserve because the homes all had large lots full of lots of dogs, cows, horses, and even some lamas. It's was like visiting a farm. It was nice to have one last outside outing before it got too hot. The preserve was really a neat place. We decided that we need to take Daddy back there when the weather cools off again. There were lots of birds to see, but our favorite was a family of geese we saw by a pond. We stood and watched them for a long time & got to take pictures. It was hard to tell who was more curious, the kids or the baby geese. It was fun to watch as both moms of children and mama goose let their children check things out at a safe distance without getting too far away or too close to the strangers. Overall it was a fun little outing. Most of all it was a great opportunity for the boys and I to get better acquainted with some people in our ward. Thanks for inviting us! I didn't take very many pics, but I did get some of the goose family so here they are.
