I got to start this week with one of the most fun things I could have done. Monday I had the chance to take 2 of my friends from work to good old' Pima, AZ to tour the new Gila Valley Temple. I always love a chance to go back to my old stomping grounds (I went to college in Thatcher & LOVED it!), but to go for such a momentous occasion was even better. Not only did I get to go to a temple open house, but to take 2 of my VERY curious friends (JT & Melissa) INSIDE a temple. I've spent lots of my downtime (and pampering time) at work answering questions and talking about being LDS, church history, doctrine, & the temple. It was a really fun trip & we were able to feel such a wonderful spirit in the temple. It was so great to be able to share this incredibly important thing with these great friends. They were so excited to go and they were amazed by how wonderful it was. Thanks girls, for going with me. Here we are outside the temple. (Alex came along and was SUCH a perfect little boy)
Then on Wed when I got home from work I was greeted by Jameson with this picture. I was SO excited!
That may seem silly to some, so let me explain why. My sweet Jameson has a fabulous imagination, but does not like to show it by writing, drawing, or coloring. Every day that he goes to preschool he comes home with a paper that is scribbled on with one color. After talking to my sister Stacy (his teacher) I understand why. She said that every time he has to do his "paper" at school she has to tell him he can't have free-time until he's finished his paper, so he picks up one crayon & scribbles on the paper so he can go play. He's never colored anything that I could even remotely recognize...until Wed. That's why I was thrilled to have this sweet boy run up & show me his drawings of Transformers & The Hulk that actually had heads, arms and legs. I'm such a crazy Mom I almost got emotional. I love to see him learn, progress & grow. Here he is proudly showing me picture.
When he saw me taking pictures Alex wanted his picture taken too, so he pulled out his "drum" (mixing bowl & drumstick that he's been carrying around & pounding on for the last few days) & gave me that cute, cheesy smile. How could I not take his picture? That smile gets me every time.

WOW that really is good. Matthew is very similar. He is not artistic. That probably would have put tears in my eyes as well. That picture is really good especially from someone that doesn't do that. Matthew came home once from preschool and I actually could recognize that it was a stegosaurus. Apparently that is his favorite dinosaur and I had to double check with his teacher that day to see if he really did that all by himself. Last was probably in the fall and it is still on our fridge. I always try to get him draw his favorite dinosaur whenever he is drawing I think it is to make me feel good that I can actually recognize something he drew. Way to go Jameson! That really is such a HUGE accomplishment.
Your boys are absolutely adorable! Can we somehow set them up with my two girls that are just a bit younger than each of them!?!? It's not crazy for a mom to find her daughter's husband for her at four years old, right?!?! Hehehehehe
That's so great that you got to go the Temple open house! I'm sure it is beautiful.
Jameson has some great drawing skills! You can tell he has a very vivid imagination.
I'm sorry about your tenants skipping out on you guys like that. I hope you find some great tenants soon!
It looks like you've been letting Jameson watch "Lost" again.i
