Calling All Readers!
As most of you know I'm definitely NOT a reader, but with all the junk that's on tv in the summer I've been about to go crazy so I decided to give the books our ward's book group is reading a try. As I was at the library looking for one of the books I needed for the group I passed through the World War 2 section and a book caught my eye. I decided since the book I was looking for was pretty short I'd pick this one up too. (That way if I got bored with one I could try another.) That was probably one of the best decisions I've ever made. As many of you know I'm pretty (ridiculously) obsessed with reading/watching anything I can find about the Holocaust & WWII. I just think these people who survived are so amazing and courageous I'm drawn to it. I started reading this book last week and I just finished the book tonight (340 pages, I even read the author notes, prologue and epilogue) and I want to start reading it again. It's so amazingly well written and it's such a different perspective. I just had to share it with you. The book is pretty new. It's copyright is 2009 so I'm sure that's why I hadn't heard of it yet. I thought it needed to be put out there so other people can hear about it and have the chance to read this amazing & uplifting book. It's called Clara's War: One Girl's Story of Survival by Clara Kramer (who wrote it at the age of 81), and I DEFINITELY recommend it.

That's so interesting because I love all things related to WWII and the holocaust, too!! Like, I would write reports and papers all through junior high, high school, college, etc. on that subject. How interesting that we have that in common!
I will have to read that book!!!
Thanks for the suggestion! I've got about 12 books lined up, but I'll make that 13! :)
Have you read Yellow Star and The Book Thief? You'll love those too.
I'll put this on my list!
Did you join Goodreads? I'd like to add you as a friend.
I'll definitely check those books out Shellee. Thnx. I haven't joined Goodreads.
I'll have to check it out.
