I Finally Gave In.....to Twilight

This one if for all of you Twilight fans out theCheck Spellingre. I actually read the book!!! (I know it's a shocker to most of you that I read at all, but I swear I did it.) I took it to San Diego and read half of it there. (Knowing I would have 4 days without kids I wasn't sure what I was going to do with myself, but this worked.) Over the last week I've been reading a little hear and there and I just finished it today. I have to say that it was entertaining and an easy read, which was exactly what I was looking for. Overall I enjoyed it....except for one little detail....turns out it's about vampires! (be sure to catch the sarcasm) :) Once I got about half way through I had to take a break. I'm just not into that fantasy stuff. I kept thinking I would be able to get over it, but I found myself giggling at the weirdest times. So, I did like it, and I can see why people read them, but I can't understand the obsession. I'm sorry, I gave it my best effort and I don't think any less of any of you obsessed fans out there. You're just much more creative souls than I. (Like we didn't all know that already). On that note, we rented the movie tonight, and although I found it very out of order from the book, I enjoyed it a lot. That being said, I will probably not be reading the next book, but am looking forward to the movie. (That will make Klint happy too, because then I won't be saying "that's not how it happened in the book" all through the next movie,) So, more power to the rest of you readers out there. At least I can speak your language now. :)

LOL... that's so funny. I read the first and it was good, too, but I just haven't had time to read the others. And I have no desire really to watch the movie.

I was telling my husband the same thing when we went to Angels and Demons... "that's not how it happened in the book"... over and over again. Drove him crazy. : )

I'm glad you liked the book. I really enjoyed the series but never felt the need to obsess over it afterwards. I am however excited for the next movie to come out!

I can completely understand where you are coming from. There is such a hubbub about it. My co-worker let me read the first one. It was good but with it being about vampires I would actually have bad dreams at night. I am just too sensitive to stuff like that. I can officially say I read the first book but don't ever plan on reading the other books nor do I plan on watching the movie. Glad to hear I am not the only one that didn't just have to read the next ones.

Hee Hee Hee - I read them all and enjoyed them but I agree that I don't get the obsession. As far as I am concerned, it was a good book and I am glad that I read them, but I would never buy merchandise....
And....I did not like the movie at all!

It sounds like you had a fun trip to San Diego....I haven't posted in a while cuz I have been a blog stranger.,..

I'm glad I'm not the only one! A girl in my ward convinced me to read the first few, but it just wasn't my favorite way to spend my free time. My sister is probably the hugest fan ever, so I can't tell her I that. :)

WHAT?!?!?! YOU AREN'T TRULY IN LOVE WITH THE BOOKS! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!
Hahaha... just kidding. I read the books until the 4th one and that one gave me such a huge headache from all of the eye rolling that I did. I stopped after the 100th page. I couldn't take it anymore.
I wish this fad would hurry and go away like all the rest.

WOW, you read them. After a series like Work in the Glory. ;) I know that was like years ago, but that's the last book I remember you reading. I've read the Twilight books. Have to agree, I don't see the obsession, but they are entertaining. I like fantasy, but I don't think anything will beat Harry Potter. :)
(I thought your comment was genius. I totally was thinking, ah this will be the same, but your so right two kids are never alike. Thanks for the enlightment.;)
