Tradition!

As I'm sure you have all noticed by now, we have LOTS of traditions in our family. Here is another great Christmas one. Let me start at the beginning... Klint officially proposed to me (even though we'd been planning and had the date set since Nov) on Dec. 2nd, 2003 in downtown Chandler in front of "The Tumbleweed Christmas Tree". That year at Thanksgiving his Grandma Layton had talked about how when she was a little girl they had been too poor to get a Christmas tree, so they got a bunch of tumbleweeds and made a Christmas tree out of them. When Klint got home one of his teachers at school mentioned how they'd just discovered the funniest Christmas tree in downtown Chandler. It was HUGE and made completely of tumbleweeds. Being the "Mr. Unique" that Klint is, that sealed the deal. His mind was made up, so he took me there and proposed in front of the tumbleweed tree. Then we walked across the street to a little gazebo that was decorated with Christmas lights and talked for a while about our hopes for our life together. So that brings me to our tradition. Every year on, or as close to Dec. 2nd as we can, we go visit the tumbleweed tree. We always take some one with us to share the experience of the tumbleweed tree, so this year we took Klint's brother Kam and his wife Sarah. We always take a family picture in front of the tree so we can see how our family changes over the years and remember where it all began. It's always fun. Here are this year's pictures.
