Printing Shop

Our last stop of the day was at the printing shop that first printed the Book of Mormon. They have a great restored place and tour. By the time we got there we'd been doing a ton and dragging 7 little kids to do it, so we wanted to see it but had to do it fast. We skipped the tour and just took a look around. It was great. There were some neat things to see. Here are the pics.

This is an actual proof sheet for the Book of Mormon as well as some replicas
Here is a first edition Book of Mormon. I don't know why, but I thought that was really cool. I could totally picture Palmyra so long ago as we drove down this cute main street. These pics were taken from the car window so they aren't great, but I loved it. One of the things that really amazed me was as we came to the main street there was literally a 4 HUGE churches on the same corner. One on each corner. You could really feel how religious this was area was and understand maybe a little of how Joseph Smith felt with his religious confusion. Here are a couple of the churches.
Then it was the pretty drive home again. It was a long day, but so very worth it.
