New Discoveries & Fun Friends

NEW DISCOVERIES - Sesame Street - Recently I've been realizing more and more that my baby Alex is not such a baby anymore. He saying lots of words now, and he knows just what he wants. He's just grown up so fast all of the sudden. The latest discovery he's had is Sesame Street. He's totally obsessed with it. I usually turn it on hoping a little of the educational value will sink in with Jameson, but lately I've come in to find this....Alex will stand right there in front of the tv for the entire hour watching it intently and chewing on his fingers. I now spend the entire hour asking him to sit down so he doesn't ruin his eyes being so close to the tv. (is that a myth our parents told us?) His new found love for Sesame Street has rubbed off on Jameson and now I often find both of them standing there holding onto the entertainment center and watching Sesame Street. They just crack me up.
Swimming - As I mentioned before Jameson has been terrified of swimming in a big pool. He's in his second round of swimming lessons, and is doing better, but he's still not too sure about it. We decided to try some "floats" as Jameson calls them. He loves them. He's much braver and actually enjoys swimming now as long as he has them on. Alex on the other hand is not one bit scared of the water. We decided to get him some "floats" as well because, whether some one was there or not he's not afraid to jump right in. It scares me to death. Alex still needs help even with "floats" on, but at least I know he won't sink to the bottom. Here they are swimming with Daddy in "Grandpa Bird's pool".
Alex showing off his muscles and getting ready to jump in the pool.
Mr. Potato Head/Transformers - Jameson has really started to discover how fun a Mr/Mrs. Potato Head can be. I love them, so I've bought a bunch of different kinds, Mr, Mrs, & Optimash Prime (the Transformer pieces). After spending some time playing with them, he decided they might be just as fun if he was the potato, and this is how he spend the rest of the day.
Here he is wearing the "Optimash Prime" pieces. His imagination always amazes me. Just gotta love that kid!
LAUNDRY BASKETS CAN BE ANYTHING YOU CAN DREAM UP - I'm pretty sure laundry day has become one of the boys' favorite days of the week. They have discovered that the empty laundry basket can be a car, airplane, rocket, or anything else you can dream up. Or it can just be fun to fill with anything interesting and sit in while watching a movie. I'm not a bit creative, but I'm so happy to see my kids have such wonderful imaginations. This is how Jameson spends laundry day.
FUN FRIENDS - We have these wonderful friends that live across the street from us. We like to joke that we are living almost identical lives. They are the Webbs. Yup, that's right Marcus & Amy Webb. Beyond that we got married about the same time, moved into the ward about the same time, and Marcus is even thinking about going to PA school. They have 2 little girls Bailey, born a week after Jameson, and Olivia, born 3 weeks after Alex. It's confused more than one person in our ward, especially the poor missionaries. Whenever one of us signs up to feed them they, without fail, call/show up at the other one's house. It keeps things interesting. All in all, they are really fun people and we're so glad to have such nice friends. This week we got to watch their girls for the day, so I took a couple of cute pics. My boys get so excited when they get to see the Webb girls, and they play so well together.

I love the little "floats" on Alex, I need to get me a few sets of those!
I didn't realize how close in age your kids are with the Amy's. If by chance they ended up getting married they wouldn't even have to change their name...nice.
