24th of July in Snowflake

Every summer the town of Snowflake goes all out for the 24th of July celebration (which was not on the 24th of July this year, weird). It's an understatement to say it's A HUGE DEAL! Everyone who has ever lived there or knows anyone who has ever lived there goes. It's always a little crazy what we try to pack in to a couple of days. The town does a parade, a craft fair, a play, a rodeo, and fireworks. Because all of Klint's friends from growing up are there that weekend we try to get together with them as well as all of Klint's family. Here are the pics from this weekend. (Be prepared for picture overload)Jameson found these elbow pads and thought they were so cool so he wanted to wear them all day. Here he is posing to show them off.We had lots of fun playing outside. Here are the kids flying a kite.Daddy & Jameson with Jameson's "be fast" kite.Jameson trying desperately to hold onto the kite in the windy weather.Mama & Jameson enjoying being outside.Alex & cousin Ranan were throughly entertained by throwing Grandma & Grandpa's rocks everywhere for hours, and mouching food off of anyone they could.Jameson & Grandpa playing tag.Jumping on the trampoline. Grandpa gave Alex & Ranan a little help because they couldn't stay on their feet to jump.Enjoying the parade.Jameson & Jada playing water guns while waiting for the parade to start.Daddy helping Alex enjoy a popsicle thrown from a float.Alex eventually got worn out by all the excitement.Grandpa & Great-Grandpa Webb's float. It was a family effort as they boys helped load the 3 tractors and we all stayed up until 1am cutting out letters and making the posters. All 3 tractors once belonged or still do to Great-Grandpa Webb, who at age 92 is still farming. It was all worth it when we say cute Great-Grandpa Webb up there in the parade waving and honking his newest tractor's horn.Gettin ready to ride "the train" which was barells with saddles on them pulled by a 4 wheeler. They thought it was so fun.Train rides. Joele's kids came over to ride too. Of coarse we had to ride the horses. Here's Daddy & Alex & Jameson & cousin Sam taking a turn. Our friends Justin & Brianna Brimhall came over to ride the horses with us. Here is Justin & son Britt (2 weeks older than Jameson) & Klint & Jameson going for a ride on Snuffy.
"Look Mom! We're cowboys!" Britt & JamesonAlex & Aunt Joele watching all of the excitement.Drew found some rockets while we were there so he decided to put them together and then he & Klint shot them off into the wind while we all watched. Notice that the air is brown. That's the dust storm the wind was kicking up. Yup, that's what they shot rockets in, and we all did this.....

I think that is one of the neatest traditions. You don't get those kind of parades and such down here so it's fun to enjoy them every once and a while.

AWWW!!!!! I wish I was there! I missed it so much, we were suffering in the heat, but I was not risking having the baby up there!
