The worst is over... We hope

For those who don't already know, Klint has been doing his first rotation for his PA program this last 6 weeks. Here's a little background. They told the students not to worry, that their first rotation wouldn't be anything too complicated, like surgery, so they could get adjusted to how the whole thing works. Then they promptly assigned Klint to do surgery for his first rotation. As if that wasn't bad enough, he didn't get general surgery like most people will (which is taking out appendix and stuff like that) he was assigned to cardiothoracic surgery (that's heart and lung surgery)!

It's probably been one of the most difficult and stressful times of our life together so far. I tell you all this so you can all celebrate with us that WE SURVIVED!!!! YEAH!!!! There were days the kids didn't see him at all (multiple days in a row), days I wasn't sure I could make it, and Klint had some he wasn't sure he could do either. I'm so proud of him. We're glad he's done well, and from what we understand, surgery is supposed to be the hardest/most stressful rotation, so we're happy to have it behind us. We know the rest of the rotations won't be easy, but they should be better. We're grateful for all the help my siblings and Klint's brother's family have given us in babysitting, and especially to my parents for being our "on call babysitters" and helping me out so much and being so supportive. I also want to thank my receptionists at work for moving lots of appointments for me and especially Rainy for going WAY above her job and watching my kids when I couldn't find a sitter. We REALLY appreciate you all. Thanks for helping us survive this last six weeks. Here's to the next six being a whole lot better.
