If you ask just about anyone who knows me they'll tell you there's not much I love more than being on the temple grounds. I grew up going to the Mesa temple grounds often. As a teenager my friends & I would often go on Sun. nights to walk around (which my parents assumed I was doing just ask an excuse to hang with friends, but I just loved walking around the temple at night, friends was just a perk). When I was a single adult living on my own I drove by or walked around multiple times a week & sometimes even daily. Even after the wonderful experience of going inside the temple and the love for the ordinances found there, I've never lost the love for the grounds. It's the place my love for the temple began. I love how beautiful it is and that, combined with the peace that is there, makes it one of my favorite places in the world. I want nothing more than to share my love of the temple with my children so I love to take them to the temple.
We went again this past Sun. evening as a family. It's so cute to watch the boys listening to the message given in the visitor's center & getting excited to see everything there. They love to look in the reflecting pools & the fountains as well as all the flowers, trees & plants. Jameson decided he wanted his picture taken at the temple & Alex soon wanted in on the picture fun. It was a great time for our family. It was dark (and I have a crappy camera) so the pictures aren't great, but here they are.
