Easter Festivities

Our Easter festivities this year were a little different than normal, but we still managed to do all of our traditional stuff & have lots of fun. We started off on Thurs night before Easter heading to the Easter Pageant. As usual we picked up Ned's Krazy Subs for dinner & met Daddy at the pageant for a picnic while we waited for it to start. The boys always surprise me with how much they understand & how much they enjoy the pageant. Here's the only picture I got that night.
On Fri Daddy was sick so he stayed home from work. I had started having contractions on Thurs night so we decided we should color our Easter eggs on Fri morning so we were sure we got it done in case things progressed (but we didn't hold our breathe on progress & it was a good thing cause contractions held steady all day without getting more frequent or harder) It's always so fun to do things like this with the boys. Here are a couple of pics of the coloring.

On Sat morning we woke up and I had continued all night & was still having contractions about 10-20 mins apart & I had a non-stress test scheduled that day at the hospital so we decided just in case we should have a little Easter egg hunt that morning. The boys LOVED looking for eggs, especially Alex. They also found that the Easter Bunny had brought them a chocolate bunny to hold them over til he had their Easter baskets ready. Here are a few pictures.

Nothing like eating a chocolate Easter bunny for breakfast.
My NST at the hospital had gone fine & they once again sent me home. Since contractions once again didn't become more frequent or harder we just kept waiting but I was starting to get really tired. Sunday morning I woke up feeling similar, but at that point had given up on things progressing. We woke up to find the Easter Bunny had in fact come & brought the boys their Easter baskets & hidden more eggs. They enjoyed another hunt & their loot, then we just laid low until church. Here are the boys exploring their baskets.
Here are my boys dressed in their "real missionary shirts" & matching ties that the Easter Bunny made for them.
After church we had Kam & Sarah & their girls over for dinner & did another little egg hunt cause the kids had been having so much fun with them. It was a great Easter & while exhausted from contractions that had now continued for 3 days & nights I was glad I was able to be home with my little family instead of in the hospital for this special day.
