It's Thanks-GIVING!!!!!

It was our year to be with my family for Thanksgiving (always a big deal in my fam). With my parents being on their mission we decided we'd do it at my house. Luckily I have great family and everyone took an assignment so I wasn't a slave to the kitchen (which was also probably much safer for everyone involved). We did the turkey, which I've never done before, but thanks to tons of help from Klint & lots of calls to my sisters for help we got it done & I'm happy to say it turned out ok. Here it is cooking away. I got busy once everyone got there (that happens when you're hosting a party for 30 people) so I didn't take a ton of pics, but here are the ones I got. Klint's brother Kam, wife Sarah, & their little girl Bentley joined us since they didn't have time off work to go out of town & we were so happy to have them with us. They came over to hang while the turkey cooked so we got a little extra time with them. Bentley was tired, but wouldn't nap, but she was so good & adorable.
They said when she gets tired she puts her head on the ground and just sits like that. We laughed our heads off as she sat like this for about 15 mins. Here's some of the table set up. Thanks to all those who brought chairs & tables & helped get things set.
I forgot to take pics before we started, but here was our spread. There was tons of food thanks to everyone. After gorging ourselves we had lots of fun hanging out. Allens brought Rock Band so we took turns with that & the girls began strategizing for black friday shopping.
Even the kids got in on it. Jameson walked up to Jenna and told her he needed to show her "what he needed from Santa" We weren't able to get my parents on the computer this year because they didn't have power, but they had sent very special packages (a lot of work had to go into that) all the way from Africa for every family. Here's my fam opening theirs. It was a book about the African night before Christmas signed by the African author. It was so special & we've been reading it constantly since. (They boys were very excited, but they were too tired for pics at that point) Thanks for going to all that effort Grammy & Papa & all those you enlisted to help make that happen. Then there were a few more hours of hanging out and Rock Band before we called it quites for the day about 10:30pm/
The kids even got their turn to have their own Rock Band time.It was a very fun day, but we all totally exhausted ourselves. I think we all felt just how little Eva looked by the end of the night.

Of course that didn't stop Jen, Stacy & I from hitting up the black fri deals. We went a different route this year & shopped from 11pm until 6am. It was exhausting, but as usual I'm happy to have all my Christmas shopping done so I can just enjoy the season. It was a great holiday. We missed all who weren't able to be there. Thanks to all who came and helped. (Kam & fam, the T.P. crew, Stewarts, Allens, Scott J fam, Kevin Bird (& friend Jessica).
