Memorable Day

You know that it's going to be a memorable day when it starts at 3am with a screaming baby & pauses in the crying that you instinctively know is vomiting. I also knew that meant I wouldn't be doing anything today except holding a sick little boy, watching channel 8, and trying to catch vomit before it got all over the place. It just makes me feel so bad for him I want to lay there and snuggle him all day long, so we all set in for a long day of snuggling & tv. He decided to get comfy with his "blankies" while I got Jameson breakfast. Strangely he decided the most comfortable place for him was in the empty laundry basket playing with his hair. He watched all of Sesame Street like this. Then Jameson decided it looked comfy so he got in too, and they snuggled together without fighting.....for few minutes.By tonight Alex was feeling much better, had stopped vomiting, and was asking for food so I gave him a piece of bread while I made dinner. I walked into the family room a few minutes later to find him like this. Apparently, if mama wasn't available to hold him, sitting inside something, no matter how small, was the next best thing. (that's a decorative hat box he's in). You never know what they're gonna do, but it sure is cute even when they're sick.

What a cute little sickie and how lucky he is to have a Mom who knows to just put other things on hold and be his Mom. Flexibility is one of life's most valuable lesson. Somebody wrote me the other day
Blessed are the flexible for they won't get bent out of shape. Good flexing! We're still doing it only now it's missionaries in need and not children. Always a surprise what your day will bring.
