Last Sat. (Nov. 1st, I know I'm behind, sorry) my family participated in the annual Memory Walk in downtown Phoenix. For those who don't know we lost my Grandma to Alzheimer's about 5 years ago. It was a long battle and we had lots of info and support from the Alzheimer's Association, so each year we participate in this walk to try to raise a little money for the Alzheimer's Association. It's great to get together each year to remember and honor my Grandma and my wonderful Grandpa who diligently cared for Grandma for so many years. He is a such an amazing example of love and endurance to us all. This year we had a bit smaller crew, but it was still fun. We love to participate and it's so nice to be able to do this as family. It's always a good time when we're together, even though we tend to get a little silly by the end. Here are a few pics from this year's walk.

My cute Jameson showing me his sign. We wear these signs each year as we walk.

This year's walkers. (We missed the Jamesons who moved to Utah this year)
Getting ready to start the walk. Jameson walked this year for the first time and he did pretty well. Alex mostly slept through it.

Jameson did get kinda tired so he rode with cousins Isaac and Tatum. They were so cute crammed into that little stroller.
Our sign holders. Way to go Chandler and Shelby!

Cute Grandpa. At almost 90 he actually walked the whole walk and pushed grand kids in the wheelchair. Nothing slows him down. You're an inspiration to us all. WE LOVE YOU GRANDPA!

How fun and what great memories to look back on...
That's so neat that you do that as a family:)
I love how you guys do that for your grandma. You are such a cute family.
What a great family event to remember your grandma.
That's awesome! What a great thing for the family to be able to do together.
That is so fun! Way to go Grandpa!
I remember hearing about this last year and thinking, "I wish my family did this!" My grandma had Alzheimer's too, and it's such a horrible disease.. I would love to get involved with the Memory Walk, maybe next year we'll live closer and we can participate. :) I'll have to get the details from you...
You got a bunch of great pictures too! I love the one of all the kids crammed into the stroller! That's gonna be so fun for them to look back at in 10 years. :) Your Grandpa is such a sweet guy, I can't believe he pushed grandkids in his wheelchair the whole time! What a man! :)
by-the-way, I can't believe you have two kids! You look so thin in those pictures! lucky...
Oh my gosh, what an awesome thing to do as a family. My grandmother has Alzheimer's. She's in California, so we're not involved in her day-to-day life (obviously), but it's still... hard. I didn't know about the Memory Walk. I love it, and I love that your family does it together! That's awesome, thanks for sharing!
What a fun time to capture the memories of the past that will forever be cherished. Love the family picture! :)
