Christmas in September

We had a little mini-Christmas at our house this week. Explanation...because my kids birthdays are so close to Christmas they never get new toys. (I feel like I need an occasion to buy them something because I don't want to spoil them) Having a January birthday myself I know how it feels, so yesterday I broke down and took a little shopping spree to get them a toy they are really into right now. Of coarse, as usual I raided the clearance racks first, and then actually bought 2 toys that were full price (a huge thing for me, I hate to pay full price for anything) We ended up with quite the haul. We got 2 transformers, a bike/horse riding helmet, some spider man shoes (only $1.50, best find of the day) and some other shoes for Jameson, as well as some sippys and a car seat for Alex. When we got home it really felt like Christmas. I've never seen Jameson so excited for a toy in my life as he was for those transformers. He hasn't put them down since and has already figured out how to transform one of them, which I can't do. And just in true Christmas style, Alex got the full enjoyment out of the packaging everything came in. It was so fun to see them so excited about stuff, so I think we may have to make this a yearly thing.

Here is Jameson trying everything new out at once. I love the look on his face. He was so excited I couldn't even get him to look at the camera, and he walked around like that for about 2 hours. Notice he didn't even try to take the tags off so the shoes (which are much too big now) are stuck together.

Alex enjoying some of the packaging.

Your actions just made you the coolest mom in the world! I hate when people have birthdays so close to Christmas, we celebrate my niece's half-birthday on July 24th.
I am with you for never paying full price for anything. There is an awesome store in AZ Mills that sells cute kids clothes for super inexpensive. It's between the food court and Sports Authority. You should check it out.

We said, when I was pregnant with Britt, that we would do a half-birthday party every year (in June)...then my sister had a baby the very next June on Britt's half birthday! So I guess we'll just count her party as half his. :)
I love the look on Jameson's face in that picture! He's so excited! :)

WOW I cannot believe how big Jameson is!! I still remember meeting up somewhere right after I got off my mission and had no sleep and holding the once little guy. How is Klint doing with PA school? I am going to be applying soon!!!! Well thought I would say hi it has been way too long!
